Colour

Having fun with colour, Mark making is interesting. Opens up a new wave! I am trying to achieve a metallic look and colour response to these in paints are fun. Especially the vast amount of hints and hues. I could investigate this for a long time. Can you imagine trying to get all the colours from a disco ball down on paper. The Quality of the paint is a huge factor. I will do some quality control while experimenting..

Got some lovely photos of several layers of colours piled up ontop of each other. Got in really close and the use of reflective silver paper paid off. Purples, Blues and wines shown out from the light on the green Blue and  Black mix.Could work away quite contentedly for a while with this. The challenge would be to get the same paint effect.

Take a look at Philip Taaffes work. I came across his on he IMMA website. They look amazing on the Gallery wall. I'll bet they'd live up to expectations up close. Philip, if your looking for someone to mind one of your large pieces, I'd make room in the Sitting room for it!!!!

Large it up

There is a super book in the Library called Vitamin 3D. Some great inspiration for large pieces. I really liked Mindy Shapero. Her use of Colours are right up this street.
